Even with a guest list of two, there was a lot of planning involved. Find a laid back photographer - check. Schedule the appointment at the courthouse - check. Plan our celebratory food and drinks, make sure the house looks clean and the garden beds have a little color, and our outfits are clean and our hair looks alright - check, check, check, check. A lot of care went into thinking about the way...

Everyone meet Japera & Ian!

Where-oh-where do I even begin with this adorable couple? Honestly, if I had to describe these two in one word it would be:  #goals  :) But seriously, Erik and I knew from the very first time meeting these two, that their love for life and for each other was out of this world. Our suspicions were confirmed after we got a chance to hear their love story. And I must say, i...

Well, it's far too cold to go camping, or even walk to the mailbox for that matter, so here's a story about our last camping trip...  :)

This trip happened just after Robert graduated from Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island.  Going camping was one of the things Robert really wanted to do on his time off, so I am really glad we got to make this trip happen.

We arrived at Table Rock...

Let me be honest, when my little brother Robert decided to drop his college scholarship and join the Marines, I wasn't exactly thrilled.  He's a super smart kid and loves a challenge whether it's in school or in life.  I guess it shouldn't of been such a surprise that he decided to join.  Now that it's all said and done, I must say I'm one proud sister.

For me,...

Linville Gorge, oh what a beautiful place.

With the busy fall wedding season fast approaching, it can be hard to find a free weekend.  This past weekend though, we were able to take my younger siblings (John and Amelia) to the mountains for a early/late birthday celebration for the both of them and Erik's brother Zach came along too.

With only a general idea of wher...

The adventure started with a 3am car ride to the airport for our trip to Denver.  Erik and I were super excited and a little...

I'm calling this blog, "A Series Of Unfortunate Camping Events".

Last weekend, Erik and I took my brother Robert (20), my sister Amelia (18) and our family dog Scarlett (8 in people years) camping on the Chattooga River near Burrell's Ford Campground close to Clemson, SC.  With Robert shipping off to Paris Island the week after and with the annual reign of fire happening (aka...

I have a confession (holds breath) ... I'VE NEVER GONE CAMPING BEFORE!

Pheww... There, I said it.  Glad I got that off my chest.

Yep, I'm a 26-year-old-grown-woman who loves the outdoors and adventures, but had never gone camping before.  I'm not really sure how that happened (or didn't happen), but I guess that's how it goes when you're raised by a single mother and your family didn't...
